Arts Award @ Diss Corn Hall
Diss Corn Hall is a registered Arts Award centre. The Arts Award is open to young people aged between 11 and 19 who want to take their Bronze or Silver Arts Award and gain a nationally acknowledged qualification which recognises their involvement and achievements in the Arts.
Arts Award helps young people to learn and share new creative skills and to make links with creative professionals in the arts and media.
To help young people work toward their awards, Diss Corn Hall hosts FREE weekly ideas workshops run by trained, CRB-checked, Arts Award advisors each Wednesday in term time from 4pm-6pm.
We also provide an exciting programme of subsidised workshops and performances by arts professionals. Some of which are open to young people not taking the Arts Award at the moment. Check out our Arts Award workshop events above for more information.
You can find out lots more information about Arts Award at www.artsaward.org.uk
Are you interested in becoming an Arts Award Adviser?
Our enthusiastic and talented group of young people is keen to continue pursuing their Awards and the Corn Hall is on the lookout for people to help run our sessions as Arts Award Advisers.
Our sessions are held on Wednesdays from 4-6pm during term time and as an adviser you would help with mentoring participants through either the Bronze or Silver Award. Adviser training will be provided if required.

Showcase and Exhibition
The Arts Award is a group that aims to develop the skills of young people who are interested in the arts and equip them with an arts qualification. The participants are working towards a Bronze or Silver award- to do this they have to present a portfolio showing their skills and the required elements of the award. In doing this, they have had opportunities to meet local artists, attend workshops, set themselves arts challenges and lead an arts event.
Their hard work is to be displayed in an exhibition and a showcase; the students are helping to organise these as part of the leadership unit in their award. The showcase, which is at the Corn Hall on 26th April, at 6:00pm, will feature films, music, dance, narration and much more.

Brilliant funding news!
We are very proud to say that the Taylor and Hammond Educational Foundation have given us £650 to fund the Arts Award programme in September! We are so thankful as this means that we do not have to charge participants so everyone can take part without fear that they wont be able to afford it. After all, art is for everyone.
